Bishop Okoye Spiritan Secondary School has won 3 gold medals in the maiden edition of a four team Ignatian Tournament organized by Jesuit Memorial College Port Harcourt. The school won gold in football for both male and female categories after defeating both the host and Sacred Heart Seminary, Port Harcourt. The BOSSS female table tennis team also won gold medal in the competition after Daphne Igbe defeated her opponent.
Speaking to BOSSS media after the competition, the Director of Sports, Rev Fr Dominic Nnoshiri C.S.Sp expressed delight with the performance of the teams that represented the school. He thanked them for the glorious outing and promised to continue to support their manifest talents.
In a rousing reception in honour of the athletes, BOSSS principal, Very Rev Fr Jude Ekemgba C.S.Sp appreciated the team for the brave outing. He also thanked the director of Sports and the coaching crew that prepared the students. On their part, the students thanked the school for giving them the opportunity and also thanked them for the victory party the school threw for them.
Abanobi Francis,Quentin Packson and Romanus-Ajih Chidubem scored the goals in the male category while Ozonwadibe Frances and Uba Iheyinwa Judith scored for the female team.
