The 22nd of February 2025 will forever be etched in the annals of BOSSS history as the day the school's interhouse sports competition reached new heights of excitement and camaraderie!
As the sun rose over the school's grounds, the atmosphere was electric with anticipation. Students from the six houses – Blue, Green, Red, Grey, White anf Yellow. gathered at the starting line, their faces set with determination and their hearts ablaze with passion. The Chairman of the event, Engr Agu, declared the event open and admonished the students to display a high level of sportsmanship.
The sound of the whistle marked the beginning of the match past, a spectacular display of coordination, discipline, and school spirit. The students, dressed in their respective house colors, marched in perfect synchrony, their feet stomping out a rhythmic beat that echoed across the grounds.
But the students weren't the only ones who got to join in on the fun! Parents, eager to show their support and enthusiasm, participated in the match past, proudly sporting their children's house colors. The sight of parents and students marching together, united in their school spirit, was a truly heartwarming moment.
As the day progressed, the excitement only intensified. The athletic events, which included sprints and relays, saw students giving it their all, their faces contorted with effort, and their hearts filled with a desire to win.
And win they did! Grey House emerged victorious, their students erupting into cheers and tears of joy as they lifted the coveted trophy aloft.
But the day wasn't just about winning; it was also about recognizing and rewarding dedication and commitment. Special awards were presented to Sir Henry Ijeh and Prof. Mrs Cynthia Obiora for their tireless efforts in supporting the school, particularly in the area of sports.
As the event drew to a close, the school Principal Fr Jude Ekemgba took a moment to express his heartfelt gratitude to all the parents and sponsors who had made the day possible. Their support, enthusiasm, and generosity had helped create an unforgettable experience for the students, one that would stay with them for years to come.
And so, as the students, parents, and staff of BOSSS parted ways, they all shared a sense of pride, accomplishment, and excitement for the next interhouse sports competition. For in the world of BOSSS, sports is not just about winning or losing; it's about building character, fostering teamwork, and creating lifelong memories.
