Christians have been charged to be instrument of the holy spirit to renew the face of the earth. This charge was given during the 2024 Pentecost celebration at Bishop Okoye Spiritan Secondary School . The bursar of the school and the homilist, Rev Fr Remigius onyeaghala C.S.Sp who gave the charge said Christians are expected to be shining light to the world through their actions. He noted that the desired change in the society can only come when people of conscience avail themselves to be used by the Holy Spirit. He lamented on the level of decay in the polity which he attributed to the failure of leaders and the led to do the right thing.
He referenced the experience of the apostles when they became bold as the spirit descended on them which empowered them to continue to preach without fear. The cleric encouraged Christians to stand for what is right, seek divine unction and live a godly life in both their homes and career life.
Earlier the principal of the school, Rev Fr Jude Ekemgba C.S.Sp and the Spiritan community superior Rev Bro Damian Nwokeji C.S.Sp welcomed parents who came to partake in the ceremony.
The Pentecost celebration also saw the reception of First Holy Communion by 34 students and series of cultural presentations.
