Students of BISHOP OKOYE SPIRITAN SECONDARY SCHOOL (BOSSS) celebrate Nigeria's Independence Day, October 1st in a magnificent way. The event began with the recitation of the National Anthem and an opening remark by Rev. Fr. Jude Ekemgba, C.S.Sp.
The event, which Rev. Fr. Dominics Nnoshiri, C.S.Sp. planned and coordinated, featured a variety of presentations from students in all classes and press club members. Among the presentations are dancing, short drama, musical interludes, and many others. The students enthusiastically and freely expressed themselves to show off their skills and talents.
Other events of the day include inter-house sports draws and friendly matches among students to mark the day.

INTER-HOUSE SPORT DRAW
Among the events planned to commemorate Independence Day is an inter-house sports draw for the various houses in preparation for the upcoming 2022/2023 inter-house sports event.
FRIENDLY MATCHES
SS1 boys played a friendly football match versus JSS3 boys. At the end of the game, the SS1 boys were defeated by the valiant JSS3 boys, who dominated the game in both halves.
Mr. Kingsley Agha, reacting to the game, stated that the JSS3 boys were more coordinated and had more technicality and strategy, which paid off in winning the game. He believes that with additional practice, the SS1 boys will be able to beat the JSS3 boys in the future.
In the same vein, the SS3 females competed in a friendly basketball game against other female students. It was decided in favour of the SS3 students.
Mr. Darlington, the basketball coach, told the BOSSS media that the two teams were doing well but could do better. He identified areas where the girls could improve in order to advance.
